The Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics successfully Held the “Experience Sharing Conference on the Construction and Innovation of Economics and Management Courses”

The Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics successfully held the “Experience Sharing Conference on the Construction and Innovation of Economics and Management Courses” on December 1, 2023. The conference attracted nearly 30 teachers from the Central University of Finance and Economics, the University of International Business and Economics, the University of International Business and Economics, and other institutions of higher education. The theme of the seminar focused on the construction and innovation of economics and management courses, with the intention of sharing experience and discussing new trends and challenges in the field of teaching.

Lin Song, Dean of the Business School, delivered a speech at the conference, emphasizing the importance of curriculum construction and teaching innovation, and extended a warm welcome to the participants. Dean Lin also affirmed the construction of a first-class undergraduate major in the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management, the organizer of the conference.

Subsequently, three guests who have made outstanding contributions to teaching innovation gave wonderful speeches. The first guest speaker, Dr. Li Jiapeng, from the Department of Strategy of the Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics, offered courses such as "Management", "Strategic Management" and "Innovation and Entrepreneurship". His research results have been published in journals such as Journal of Management World. He has presided over 1 NSFC project, 1 industry-university cooperation and collaborative education project under the Ministry of Education, and 1 education ideological and political project in Beijing. He won the first prize in the 14th Competition for Young Teachers of Central University of Finance and Economics and the first prize in the liberal arts group of the 13th Competition for Young Teachers in Beijing. In his sharing of "Construction of Management Courses and Teaching Reflections on the Unity of Knowledge and Action", Dr. Li Jiapeng talked about his teaching philosophy and practice of "unity of knowledge and action" based on his own confusion in teaching practice, and frankly shared many innovative measures in the course construction.

The second speaker, Professor Zhang Guanglei, is from the School of Management at Wuhan University of Technology. He has won the first prize in the Senior Group of the National Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers (2023), the special prize in the Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers in Hubei Province (2023), the first prize in the Teaching Achievement Award for Higher Education in Hubei Province (2022), and the second prize in the Teaching Competition for Young Teachers of Higher Education in Hubei Province (2018). He has published many research results in top domestic and foreign journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Information Systems Research, Human Resource Management, and Nankai Business Review. Professor Zhang Guanglei, in his speech titled “Breaking the Isolation between “Teaching” and “Learning” – Sharing Experiences from the National Teaching and Innovation Competition,” combined his own teaching practice to talk about his unique understanding of innovation. He systematically summarized and refined many teaching practices and proposed his own innovation system.

The third speaker, Associate Professor Guan Rong, is from the School of Statistics and Mathematics, Central University of Finance and Economics. She is the head of national first-class undergraduate courses and teaches courses such as "Statistics" and "Statistical Survey". She has won more than ten provincial, ministerial and university-level teaching awards, including the first prize, the Best Lesson Plan Award, the Best On-site Demonstration Award, and the Best Teaching Review Award in the 11th Competition of Basic Teaching Skills of Young Teachers in Beijing, and the third prize in the First Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers in Beijing. She has presided over scientific research projects such as the Youth Project of NSFC, the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Project under the Ministry of Education, and the Major Statistical Special Project under the National Bureau of Statistics. Starting from the interpretation of the connotation of first-class course construction, Associate Professor Guan Rong summarized the realization path and main practices of teaching innovation, and introduced the teaching innovation design and practice of the national first-class course "Statistics".

This sharing session not only provided a platform for interactive exchanges, but also demonstrated the innovative spirit and strength of the Central University of Finance and Economics in the field of economics and management education. The participants spoke highly of the experts' sharing and said that they benefited a lot. The Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics will continue to devote itself to improving teaching quality and promoting teaching reform, and make greater contributions to the cultivation of future management elites.
