On the morning of June 07, 2023, the Business School held the Eighth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center in Conference Room 615 of the Main Teaching Building of the Xueyuan South Road Campus of Central University of Finance and Economics. Professor Castka's lecture was titled “Supply Chain Review: Research Opportunities.” Professor Castka proposed a theoretical framework consisting of five audit elements: participants, processes, space, training and skills development, and services. He delved into how these elements can transform the old paradigm of supply chain review into a new one. He also identified academic research opportunities in the field of supply chain review, including the predictive utility of supplier audits and the competencies future auditors will need. Following this, to help improve the research capabilities of the attending graduate and doctoral students, Professor Castka discussed five key aspects: clarifying research objectives, understanding one's research strengths, finding suitable journals, seeking team collaboration, and translating research into practice. He provided insights on how to conduct research and increase the chances of successful publication, offering new perspectives to the students.

After the presentation, the attending faculty and students engaged in discussions and exchanges on topics related to Professor Castka's lecture, including data security in supply chain review, the significance and value of academic research, and the importance of collaborators.
