Professor Li Jiatao shared the latest cutting-edge topics in the field of international business. The theme of this lecture was "Managing Disruption in International Business: Effectuation, Business Model Innovation, and Channel Resilience." The article draws on international marketing and entrepreneurship literature and uses data from 115 international companies in Wuhan, China, during the COVID-19 pandemic to explore the "black box" mechanisms between effectuation and channel resilience. Research findings indicate that business model innovation partially mediates the relationship between effectuation and channel resilience, and both stages are moderated by deep uncertainty. Following Professor Li's insightful presentation, the attending teachers and students engaged in a lively discussion on topics such as the research sample, research methods, and future research directions. This further enhanced the depth of academic exchange.
The “Academic Forum of Excellence” is an academic exchange platform established by the Business School to fulfill its mission of "contributing new knowledge to management.” It focuses on cutting-edge theoretical issues and organizational development challenges in the discipline of business administration and Chinese enterprise management practices. By aggregating cutting-edge thoughts and innovative viewpoints from both domestic and international sources, it seeks to explore Chinese solutions for the social and economic development of China.
