On the morning of January 17, 2023, the Business School held an exchange seminar on the 2023 Teaching Innovation Competition. Dean Lin Song and nearly 20 full-time teachers from various departments of the Business School attended the seminar. This exchange seminar mainly focused on the preparatory work for the 3rd Beijing University Teaching Innovation Competition. This seminar was chaired by Wang Zhen.

    Dean Lin Song first introduced the theme of this seminar. Lin Song pointed out that in 2022, the Business School achieved smooth progress and remarkable results in teaching. Recently, the Business School launched the selection of participating teachers and teams for the 3rd Beijing University Teaching Innovation Competition, and hoped that all teachers could actively summarize their teaching experience and actively participate in the competition, so as to continuously raise their awareness and level of teaching innovation.

    Zhu Fei and Liu Wei successively shared their experience in participating in the 2022 Second Beijing University Teaching Innovation Competition. Zhu Fei particularly emphasized that the teaching innovation competition should focus on the “real” problems in teaching to carry out solid and targeted teaching innovation. Besides, he said that it's important to pay equal attention to instrument rationality and value rationality and embed Chinese stories in the teaching process. Liu Wei pointed out that teachers should pay attention to the collection and organization of teaching materials at ordinary times, strengthen team building and highlight the “novelty” in teaching innovation.

    Li Jiapeng and Ji Yueting introduced the preparation for the competition and had in-depth discussions with the attending teachers on teaching problem exploration, teaching content design, teaching team building and teaching video recording. The attending teachers also shared their thoughts on talent cultivation, teaching design, and curriculum ideological and political education.

    Wang Zhen introduced the work arrangements for the selection within the Business School for this competition.

    The Business School has always attached great importance to teaching. This exchange seminar is the Business School’s special guidance for teachers participating in the 2023 Teaching Innovation Competition, and will continue to carry out exchanges and seminars to help teachers carry out teaching innovation better and improve the quality of personnel training.
