In August 2022, the teaching reform achievement of the teaching team of the course system of Human Resource Management led by Professor Zhu Fei of the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management of the Business School won the first prize of the Excellent Teaching Achievement Award offered by China Human Resource Development Association (a national-level association under the supervision of the National Development and Reform Commission). The members of the teaching team include Zhu Fei, Wang Zhen, Yu Guangtao, Zhang Hongyu, Liu Shubo, Liu Wei and Zhu Xiji. The award-winning teaching achievement is titled “Innovative Constructivist Experiential Teaching, Promoting Advanced Learning and First Class Talent Cultivation in Human Resource Management”.
This teaching achievement award is an important achievement of the Business School in continuing teaching reform and innovation and serving the training of first-class talents. The teaching team focused on the “four nos” that commonly existed among undergraduate students due to the lack of corresponding management experience in the teaching practice of the “Human Resource Management” course system, i.e. no familiarity, no liking, no novelty and no deepness and took “learning experience” as the main axis to integrate experiential learning model and constructivist cognitive learning theory, proposed and comprehensively applied the “constructivist experiential teaching methodology” as the methodological basis for this teaching innovation, and systematically explored and summarized teaching model innovation, experiential foundation construction, and course content expansion and deepening. The results of educational reform and innovation can help more than 1,000 universities nationwide that offer HRM majors and courses to improve the teaching quality and high-level learning effects of the course, to improve the professional qualities of students, to guide students to shape correct values and to promote the cultivation of first-class talents. Besides, since business administration courses generally face teaching problems similar to this course, the teaching innovation results can also be applied to other business administration courses.
As the person in charge of this teaching reform innovation achievement, professor Zhu Fei was invited by China Human Resource Development Association to deliver a keynote speech at the 2nd Human Resource Management Discipline Development Forum on August 20, 2022, of which the title was “The Practice and Summary of the Constructivist Experiential Teaching Methodology in the Teaching of the HRM Course System”. This lecture was delivered to more than 200 people from the department of human resources management of more than 100 universities nationwide, including experts, responsible persons (deans, deputy deans and department heads). Through the lecture, he systematically shared the concept and innovative practices of the teaching reform and innovation achievement, which were widely praised by the participating experts.
