The Business School Held an Academic Seminar on Digital Entrepreneurship

    On December 21-22, 2023, the Business School held the 2023 Academic Seminar on Digital Entrepreneurship. With the continuous development of digital technology and digital economy, digital entrepreneurship has given rise to a variety of new entrepreneurial forms, theories and practices. Especially in China, entrepreneurial activities such as platform enterprises, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce driven by digital technology continue to flourish, while new entrepreneurial phenomena are expected to be promoted by more entrepreneurial and innovative researchers to promote new academic research theories and practices on entrepreneurship. The principal focus of this seminar was on the cutting-edge topic of digital entrepreneurship. Teachers and doctoral students from Tsinghua University, Jilin University, China University of Political Science and Law, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Shandong University, Southwest Jiaotong University and other institutions of higher education participated in the seminar.

    The seminar invited Si Xiaofu, Qiushi Chair Professor of Zhejiang University, Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship of Zhejiang University, and tenured professor of Zeigler Business School at Pennsylvania Commonwealth University in the United States, and Mao Jiye, "Outstanding Scholar” & Distinguished Professor of Renmin University of China, professor of the Business School, former dean of the Business School, and winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, to give lectures on related topics to the participants. During the two-day seminar, the two professors discussed topics such as literature reading, cutting-edge theoretical research, research topic selection, case studies and writing around the theme of digital economy and business management. Participants generally reported that they benefited a lot.

    The Business School has held a seminar on entrepreneurship research and paper writing every year since 2013, and this is the 8th session so far. The entrepreneurship research and education at the Business School have achieved outstanding results and are very influential in China. This seminar will also be committed to providing a working platform for communication and cooperation among young scholars in the field of entrepreneurship, and further enhancing the influence of the School in related fields.
