Our School’s Students Secured Outstanding Achievements in the Finals of the 8th Human Resources Innovation Practice Competition for College Students in China

From November 24 to 26, 2023, the Finals of the 8th Human Resources Innovation Practice Competition for College Students in China were held in Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province. After competitions in six major regions across the country, more than 600 participants from a total of 61 institutions of higher education advanced to the finals. The grand finale is structured around seven key areas: practical design, case analysis, real-world workplace challenges, labor dispute management, group discussions without a designated leader, hands-on digital HR exercises, and HR proficiency in English. Over 40 HR directors from various companies and experienced legal professionals were assembled as the judging panel to assess the contestants’ practical abilities, professional knowledge, and strategic thinking in the workplace context.

With the strong support of the university and school, and under the careful guidance of teachers from the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management, Zhang Hongyu, Ji Yunting, and Zuo Yuhuan, our school’s participants, including the 2021-grade undergraduates Zeng Xin, Zhou Yiyao, Meng Jinyu, Dong Peiyu, and He Wenbo, as well as 2022-grade undergraduates Zou Yang, Zhang Yanmei, Chen Yi, Li Yiwen, Qian Zihan, and Liao Zhen participated in the intense competition in various tracks, demonstrating a high level of professional quality and competitive strength.

As a result of the unwavering efforts of our competing team, our participants achieved outstanding success, securing the top team award, two special individual grand prizes, two individual first-place honors, and three individual second-place recognitions. The competitors remained calm and composed during the competition, demonstrating a high level of quality. They showed clear thinking, rigorous logic, and precise reasoning, fully showcasing the profound professional knowledge and flexible practical application abilities of our students in human resource management. It also highlighted the outstanding educational achievements and quality of talent cultivation in the field of human resource management at our school.

In his report at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that “Education, science and technology, and talent are the foundational and strategic supports for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country. It is essential to maintain the belief that technology is the key to productivity, human talent is the most valuable asset, and innovation is the fundamental driver of progress. We must commit deeply to the strategies of advancing the nation through science and education, building a strong nation with a focus on talent, and fostering growth through innovation. By exploring new domains and paths for development, we can continuously create new energies and advantages to shape our future.” The Business School at the Central University of Finance and Economics is committed to upholding the principle proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping that “talent is the most valuable resource.” The school will focus on strengthening foundational education in human resource management and will persist with the approach of “enhancing learning and teaching through competitions.” Guided by innovation and grounded in practical experience, the school aims to assist students in translating theoretical knowledge into real-world applications, thereby developing finance professionals with both strong expertise and practical skills.
