5 Doctoral Students of the Business School Received the Support from the School's Academic Exchange Program and Conducted Presentation and Communication within the School
On the evening of September 14, 2023, the 5 doctoral students supported by the academic exchange program for students of the Business School gave presentation on academic conference papers in Conference Room 615 in the Main Teaching Building. Doctoral students from different grades attended the academic communication.
Bao Xianjun, a doctoral student enrolled in Technology Economics and Management, discussed his paper “The Impact of Corporate Environmental Investment on Debt Financing Costs: A Two-Pronged Approach Considering Technological and Environmental Effects,” which he presented at the 16th Academic Annual Conference of National Youth Management Science and Systems Science in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province in June 2023. His research delves into how corporate environmental practices influence creditors' investment decisions from a capital market reaction standpoint.
At the 22nd National Academic Annual Conference on Accounting Informatization held by the Accounting Society of China in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, in July 2023, Qin Lihua, a doctoral student in Business Administration enrolled in 2022 presented her paper “Does Forward-looking Information Reduce the Firm’s Future Stock Price Crash Risk?” This paper principally explores how forward-looking information disclosure affects the future stock price crash risk of the company and sheds light on the information effect of such disclosures.
At the 2023 Academic Annual Conference of the Accounting Society of China in Changchun, Jilin Province, in July 2023, Lan Minghui, a doctoral student in Technology Economics and Management enrolled in 2022 presented her paper “Firm-Government Policy Correlation and Bank Loans—Study Based on Machine Learning Method.” This paper primarily investigates how the correlation between a firm and government policies affects the firm's bank loans, using machine learning methods.
At the 2023 Academic Annual Conference and Doctoral Forum of the Chinese Marketing Association of Universities in Wuhan, Hubei Province in July 2023, Xu Shunzhi, a doctoral student in Business Administration enrolled in 2021, presented his paper “How language style affects crowdfunding performance: Evidence from reward-based crowdfunding.” This paper investigates the relationship between language style and funding performance in the context of reward-based crowdfunding, examining the role of communication style and unveiling the mechanism through which language style influences funding outcomes.
At the 2023 Academic Annual Conference and Doctoral Forum of the Chinese Marketing Association of Universities in in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in July 2023, Liang Xu, a doctoral student in Business Administration enrolled in 2023, presented his paper “The Impact of Internet Consumption Credit Options on Consumer Purchase Intention and Its Psychological Mechanism.” He shared this paper with his classmates, focusing on how the availability of credit payment options influences consumers' purchase intentions during the payment for online shopping and examining the underlying psychological mechanisms.
Upon completion of the presentation, the participating students actively asked questions against the information shared by the presenters; the presenters answered such questions with earnest. The 5 presenters expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the School for its academic exchange support program, and encouraged other students to actively participate in academic conferences, build academic networks, improve scientific research capabilities, and broaden academic horizons.
The academic exchange support program for students of the Business School is important measures taken to encourage students to actively participate in high-level academic exchanges, expand the influence of the relevant disciplines of the School, and effectively improve the quality of student development. It has been well received by the students.
