The Twelfth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center Successfully Organized

 

On the afternoon of June 20, 2023, the Business School held the Twelfth Session of Academic Forum Series Lectures of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the of Business and the MBA Education Center in Conference Room 615 of the Main Teaching Building of the Xueyuan South Road Campus and online via Tencent Meeting. The lecture invited Professor Ying Kei Tse from the Business School of Cardiff University, UK. Over twenty participants, including faculty members, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates from our School, attended the event. .

Professor Liu Xiaohong from the Department of Supply Chain and Operations Management of the Business School presided over the lecture and introduced Professor Tse's credentials. Professor Tse is a professor at the Business School of Cardiff University, UK. His primary research fields include supply chain quality management, risks and resilience in supply chain, big data analysis, social media data mining, and sustainable supply chains. Professor Tse has published over 50 SCI/SSCI indexed papers in top academic journals within his field and holds positions as an associate editor and guest editor for related journals.

Professor Xie's lecture topic was Customer Responses to Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on Social Media: An Eye-Tracking Approach.” This study applies the eye-tracking approach to explore corporate environmental responsibility deficits from the consumer's perspective. By setting up different experimental scenarios, it investigates how consumers respond to such behaviors.

Following the sharing session, the teachers and students who participated in the lecture actively discussed ideas on topics including data processing, experimental design, research method selection, and sample selection, based on Professor Tse's lecture theme. This further enhanced the in-depth academic exchange.


The “Academic Forum of Excellence” is an academic exchange platform established by the Business School to fulfill its mission of "contributing new knowledge to management.” It focuses on cutting-edge theoretical issues and organizational development challenges in the discipline of business administration and Chinese enterprise management practices. By aggregating cutting-edge thoughts and innovative viewpoints from both domestic and international sources, it seeks to explore Chinese solutions for the social and economic development of China.
