The Tenth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center Successfully Organized
On the morning of June 14, 2023 Morning, the Business School held the Tenth Session of Academic Forum of Excellence 2023 of the Business School for the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Business School and the MBA Education Center online via Zoom. The lecture invited Professor Li Yingfang, an outstanding professor from the Monash University Business School and an academician of the Australian Academy of the Social Sciences, as the keynote speaker. Approximately thirty faculty members, doctoral students, and master's students from the School participated in this event.

The conference was hosted by Professor Wang Zhen from the Department of Organization and Human Resource Management at the Business School. Professor Li Yingfang is currently a distinguished professor at the Monash University Business School and an academician of the Australian Academy of the Social Sciences. She has also served as the Deputy Dean of the Monash University Business School, a professor at the University of Manchester Business School, and Deputy Dean of the School of Management, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Professor Li Yingfang's research interests include Asian human resource management and labor relations, strategic human resource management, knowledge management and innovation, outsourcing, international human resource management, gender studies, diversity and inclusion management, employment relations, migration studies, the impact of digitalization on employment and human resource management; climate change, energy transition, and the future of work; sustainable development goals and the role of multinational corporations. Professor Li Yingfang has published 3 personal monographs; she has also published over 160 academic papers and over 70 book chapters. Many of these have been featured in top academic journals such as JMS, HRM, HR, HRMJ, JBR, IJHRM, BJIR, and JWB. Professor Li Yingfang received the "Dean's Award for Excellence in Research" from the Monash University Faculty of Business and Economics in 2011 and the "Dean's Award for Excellence in Research on Principles of Responsible Management Education" in 2018. She currently serves as the editor-in-chief for three journals: Human Resource Management, International Journal of Human Resource Management, and Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources. She was a visiting professor at the University of Göttingen through the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program) in 2016 and a visiting professor at King's College London in 2022. Professor Li Yingfang is a member of the UNEP-ISC (United Nations Environment Programme - International Science Council) Foresight Expert Group (2023-2024).
The theme of Professor Li Yingfang's lecture was "Human Resource Management Research Frontiers and Tips for Publishing in Top HRM Journals." Professor Li began by introducing the current trends in human resource management research, including the key areas of future research and the issues and controversies that top human resource management journals are focusing on and addressing. Next, Professor Li pointed out that the current trend in human resource management research is shifting from being business and technology-oriented to being employee and society-oriented, and is highly relevant to policies and practices in the current global political and economic context. Additionally, Professor Li shared valuable insights on successfully submitting and publishing in top human resource management journals. Specifically, she shared valuable insights and lessons learned from her experiences as a reviewer and editor for various journals, aiming to increase the chances of faculty members and students publishing in top human resource management journals.
Following the sharing session, Professor Li participated in a lively interactive discussion with the faculty and students on the trends in human resource management research and the experiences of submitting to top human resource management journals, thereby further deepening the academic exchange. In conclusion, Professor Wang Zhen summarized Professor Li's lecture.
