On September 4, 2024, the Business School of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) received an official notification from the AMBA Association that the Business School had been granted its third re-accreditation by AMBA and initial accreditation by BGA, with a period of validity of five years. The joint accreditation was a reaffirmation of the Business School’s MBA program and undergraduate education quality, training management system and internationalization level.
The on-site visit for the AMBA and BGA joint accreditation was conducted from June 20, 2024 to June 21, 2024. The Joint Accreditation Committee is composed of four experts, i.e. BodoSchlegelmilch, a honorary professor of Global Marketing Strategy at Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria,VenetaAndonova-Zuleta, former dean of the School of Management of the Universidad delosAndes (Bogotá, Colombia), WangChongming, a senior professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Zhejiang University, and GeorgeIliev, director of the AMBA Association in China. On June 20, MaHaitao, president of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), met with the joint accreditation experts at the CUFE MBA Education Center. At the beginning of the meeting, MaHaitao, president of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), delivered a warm welcome speech and had an in-depth exchange with AMBA and BGA accreditation experts. Vice presidents Li Tao and ChenBinkai, as well as the heads of the Graduate School, the International Cooperation Office and the Business School attended the meeting.

Subsequently, the Business School’s leaders accompanied the accreditation experts to visit the laboratory building, MBA classroom, other teaching places and auxiliary facilities. The expert group carefully reviewed various materials related to the MBA program's enrollment, teaching, student work, career development, and alumni work over the past five years in the archives room. Besides, it held discussions with teachers and employer representatives and had a comprehensive understanding of the operation of the MBA program and the Business School’s undergraduate program.

On the morning of June 21, Lin Song, dean of the Business School and director of the MBA Education Center, introduced the course of the development of the Business School and theconstruction of the MBA program in details to the evaluation expert group at the accreditation report meeting. In particular, he reported to the accreditation evaluation experts on the continuous changes and improvementsmade by the MBA program based on the feedback and suggestions of the AMBA accreditation experts as well as the corresponding resultsachievedafterthe Business School was granted the third AMBA accreditation in 2019. Besides, ZhuFei, deputy director of the MBA Education Center and deputy dean of the Business School, introduced the specific reform measures and outputs of the MBA program in terms of differentiation and internationalization strategies in details, in response to the concerns of the accreditation experts.

Based on the AMBA and BGA accreditation self-evaluation reports submitted by the MBA Education Center, the accreditation evaluation experts conducted comprehensive, in-depth and detailed inquiries to the leaders of the Business School on such issues as the development strategy of the MBA program, the reform measures in the past five years, the cultivation of π - type talents, academic research and international development. In addition, the expert group had discussions with teaching and academic staff of the MBA program and the undergraduate program, staff from departments such as enrollment publicity, student management and alumni work, representatives of current students and alumni representatives.

After the on-site visit for the AMBA and BGA joint accreditation, Professor BodoSchlegelmilchprovided detailed accreditation feedback to CUFE and the Business School on behalf of the Accreditation Committee. President MaHaitaolistened to the feedback from the accreditation experts carefully, and vice president ChenBinkai, heads of the Graduate School and the International Cooperation Office, as well as the leadersof the Business School attended this accreditation feedback meeting. At the accreditation feedback meeting, the evaluation expert group spoke highly of the Business School’s efforts and achievements in MBA education, and believed that the Business School had reached the international advanced level in terms of curriculum setting, teaching staff, learning quality assurance, academic research and influence, as well as a high level in terms of international education. Moreover, the accreditation experts provided specific suggestions for the optimization of strategic objectives of the Business School and the MBA program, the implementation of internationalization strategies, the cultivation of entrepreneurship and leadership, the diversified development EDP and the construction of benchmark courses.

The successful granting of the AMBA and BGA joint accreditation is both an affirmation of the pioneering and enterprising work of the CUFE Business School in terms of MBA education and undergraduate education in the past five years, and an important embodiment of the Business School’s level of international education. Since 2019, the Business School and the MBA Education Center have been forging ahead, and has expanded the MBA enrollment scale by 40%, become the largest part-time MBA program in Beijing, launched new professional directions in response to national strategies and social needs, made new breakthroughs in high-level academic publishing, and achieved remarkable results in social services.
Our MBA program was granted the AMBA accreditation for the first time in 2011, and the Business School become the 8th MBA institution in mainland China and the 1st MBA institution in Beijing that had been granted the AMBA accreditation. In 2014, the program was granted the AMBA re-accreditation with a period of validity of 5 years. This accreditation is the third AMBA re-accreditation. The Business will take this opportunity to further strengthen the communication and cooperation with international institutions, renew and iterate the brand value label of the MBA program of Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) through continuous innovation and pioneering, continuously improve the quality of education and the level of school running, and makegreater contributions to cultivating more high-level management talents with international vision and innovation ability.
