Converging Thoughts and Insights, Pursuing Excellence and Blooming | The Final of the Theoretical Competition of the 16th Case Analysis and Practical Strategy Competition of Central University of Finance and Economics-Moutai 1935 Came to a Successful Conclusion


On March 9, 2024, Converging Thoughts and Insights, Pursuing Excellence and Blooming | The Final of the Theoretical Competition of the 16th Case Analysis and Practical Strategy Competition of Central University of Finance and Economics-Moutai sponsored by the Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics, supported by Guizhou Moutai Sauce-flavored Liquor Marketing Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Beijing Eurasia Grand Trading Co., Ltd. and the Academic Practice Department of the 20th MBA Association of Central University of Finance and Economics, was successfully held in Academic Hall 202. The competition aims to exercise participants' practical skills and innovative thinking by solving real-world business problems.

The guests and judges who attended the competition principally included Professor Lin Song, Dean of the Business School and Director of the MBA Education Center, Central University of Finance and Economics, Yang Zhongying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, Professor Wang Yi from the Department of Marketing at the Business School, Associate Professor Li Yuwei from the Department of Marketing at the Business School, Pu Qingmao, Beijing Region Manager of Guizhou Moutai Sauce-flavored Liquor Marketing Co., Ltd., Cui Lijun, Chairman of Beijing Eurasia Grand Trading Co., Ltd., Dr. Liu Jianfeng, an alumnus of the Business School from the Corporate Development Department of Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd., and Zhao Zhao, an alumnus of the Business School, etc. The event was hosted by Yang Haoxiang and Chen Yi from the Business School.

Before the official opening of the competition, President Lin Song, Manager Pu Qingmao, and Chairman Cui Lijun delivered speeches respectively. In his speech, President Lin placed his high expectations on the contestants and expressed his sincere gratitude to Guizhou Moutai Sauce-flavored Liquor Marketing Co., Ltd. and Beijing Eurasia Grand Trading Co., Ltd. for their strong support for the School's activities. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between business education and enterprises, and looked forward to deepening the integration of industry and education through close school-enterprise cooperation, and jointly cultivating more outstanding talents in line with the needs of society.

Chairman Cui Lijun expressed his high recognition of the competition. He mentioned that this competition combines theoretical knowledge with the actual needs of enterprises, which not only promotes the improvement of students' personal abilities, but also achieves the educational goal of applying what they have learned. He looks forward to deepening cooperation with the Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics in the future, exploring more opportunities for school-enterprise cooperation, thereby achieving win-win results and promoting industry development.

This competition integrates the two dimensions, i.e., theory and practice. On the basis of traditional case analysis (theory), it adds a practical strategy part, aiming to build the competition into a comprehensive platform that not only tests academic ability, but also pays more attention to practical operation and experience. After stringent blind review by experts from the organizing committee and intense competition in the preliminary round, 8 outstanding teams consisting of undergraduates, masters and MBAs from 7 schools stood out and entered the finals. They are Maowenti Team, Aidechijiu Team, Hongzhongbaiban Team, Caimao Shuangquan Team, Chenniang Siwei Team, Maoshan Daoshi Team, Maobusi Team and Maoshoumaojiao Team.

After the host gave a detailed introduction to the specific process and judging criteria of the finals, the much-anticipated finals officially kicked off. The contestants will face a series of complex and diverse challenges, and they must demonstrate outstanding abilities in professional knowledge, communication skills, on-the-spot response, strategic planning and teamwork. Through in-depth case analysis and heated discussions, the contestants not only tempered their logical thinking and analytical research skills, but also expanded their thinking scope and solutions to problems. During this process, the contestants had the opportunity to have close exchanges with well-known scholars in management and senior corporate executives. Such precious interactive experience undoubtedly provided them with a rare opportunity to grow rapidly in the intense competition on site.

PPT presentation & team questioning



Focusing on the brand strategy and optimization of Moutai 1935, each participating team presented their research results in depth with the help of PPT speeches, and conducted in-depth analysis and strategic suggestions on the survey data. In addition, the settings of teams asking each other questions, judges' comments and audience interaction further enriched the competition system and the depth of the questions, making the competition more exciting. In this competition, the professional qualities and innovative thinking displayed by each team provided valuable insights for the development of Moutai 1935, which received warm applause from the audience and unanimous recognition from the judges.

As the atmosphere of the competition continued to heat up, the participating teams finally competed in fierce small PK and large PK competitions, and ushered in the glorious award ceremony. In terms of team awards, after fair and meticulous evaluation by the judges, the teams that won the first, second and third place were finally identified. These awards represent a high level of competition. In addition, the Most Commercially Potential Award, the Most Creative Award, and the Best Team Award were also presented to teams that demonstrated outstanding business insights, innovative thinking, and teamwork. Meanwhile, the Excellence Award recognizes all outstanding participating teams.


In terms of individual honors, 8 contestants were recognized with individual awards for their outstanding talents and significant contributions throughout the competition. These awards are not only an acknowledgment of individual efforts and achievements, but also a motivation for all participants to keep on pursuing excellence. The following is the list of winners:

Enhancing the collaboration between institutions of higher education and excellent enterprises, proactively promoting the integration of industry and education, and fostering talent through school-enterprise cooperation is a necessary approach to cultivate high-quality, practical talents suitable for social and economic development. The competition profoundly embodies this spirit and exemplifies the principle of "school-enterprise cooperation and reciprocal learning,” strengthening the close collaboration between the business sector and higher education, and forging a new chapter in school-enterprise cooperation.


This competition serves as a stage for students to explore and practice innovation, providing them with a direct opportunity to engage in business practice. It improves the overall quality of the participating students and also demonstrates their spirit of continuous improvement and team collaboration. At that point, “Converging Thoughts and Insights, Pursuing Excellence and Blooming | The Theoretical Part of the 16th Case Analysis and Practical Strategy Competition of Central University of Finance and Economics-Moutai 1935 Came to a Successful Conclusion.
