Great news! The Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics Honored with the “2023 Annual Benchmark Brand for Business Education” at the Tencent Business School Development Forum


    On November 8, 2023, the 11th Tencent Business School Development Forum and the Annual Summit of Professional Degree Education, themed “New Beginnings and Integration,” took place in Beijing. The event brought together nearly 200 domestic and international guests, including industry decision-makers, leaders, academic experts, innovative leaders, and representatives of institutions of higher education. They discussed and provided insights for the high-quality and sustainable development of higher education. The Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics was invited to participate in the forum and was honored with the “2023 Annual Business Education Industry Benchmark Brand” award. Zhu Fei, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center and Deputy Dean of the Business School, won the “2023 Business Education Outstanding Scholar” award and delivered a keynote speech. Guo Ziyao and Fang Xiwen, the leader and deputy leader of the MBA Admissions Promotion Group of Central University of Finance and Economics, were also invited to attend the forum.

    In his keynote speech, Zhu Fei, Deputy Director of the MBA Education Center and Deputy Dean of the Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics, spoke on the topic of “Digital + Finance: Reflections and Practices on the Cultivation of π-type MBA Talents.” Professor Zhu Fei argued that in the context of high-quality economic development, facing challenges such as the new normal of the economy, the intertwining of economic globalization and deglobalization, complex international relations, rapid development and deep penetration of new technologies, and increasing uncertainty in the business environment, the new talent model for business managers in the present and future is the π-type talent. The Central University of Finance and Economics MBA program proposed the concept of a “Digital + Finance ” π-type talent model, and in practice, leveraged the university's disciplinary strengths to integrate the educational ecosystem, including alumni, partner companies, excellent employers, industry organizations, and regulatory agencies, into the entire process of π-type talent cultivation. This approach provides a forward-looking solution for financial talent cultivation and refreshes and iterates the Central University of Finance and Economics MBA program's reputation as the “Whampoa Military Academy of Finance.”

    The Central University of Finance and Economics MBA program was established in 2003, with the aim of cultivating leaders who have a global outlook, innovative abilities, financial and accounting strengths, and a strong sense of social responsibility. As one of the most competitive and influential MBA programs in China, it relies on the university's excellent social reputation and brand value, integrates high-quality resources across the university, and focuses on the unique characteristics of its finance and economics disciplines and faculty strengths. It has created new labels such as “Industry + Business” and “Digital + Finance” and has achieved significant educational outcomes and widespread social recognition. In 2011, it became the eighth institution in Mainland China and the first in Beijing to be accredited by AMBA. In 2014, it passed the AMBA reaccreditation. In 2017, it passed the CAMEA accreditation, with a 5-year validity period, becoming the 15th institution of higher education to pass the accreditation. In 2019, it passed the third round of AMBA accreditation without any conditions, with a 5-year validity period. In 2020, the Business School, Central University of Finance and Economics passed the AACSB accreditation, becoming one of the 31 institutions of higher education in mainland China to receive this accreditation, with a 5-year validity period. In the future, the MBA Education Center of Central University of Finance and Economics will keep on focusing on development of China's MBA education, maintaining its role as a benchmark, continuously enhancing and refresh the brand image of the Central University of Finance and Economics MBA program, expanding its brand influence, and actively exploring new paths for MBA education in the context of high-quality economic development.
