Exploring the Road of Scientific and Technological Innovation in Pinggu

In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Business School, vigorously promote the university-enterprise cooperation, deepen the integration of industry and education, and actively carry out the work of visiting enterprises and expanding jobs, the Center for Career Development of the Business School organized a series of activities themed by "Business School Enterprise Tour", which helped teachers and students gain a close understanding of the enterprises and the industry, enhance their business vision, and promote the transformation of theoretical knowledge into practical application.

On April 17, 2023, under the leadership of Li Yuexin, secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, and Yang Zhongying, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Business School, a group of more than 50 representatives of teachers, students and alumni of the Business School went to Pinggu District for scientific research and academic exchanges. Besides, Zhang Yuan, chief reporter of planning and choreographing of China Agriculture Film & Television Center, as well as representatives of teachers and students from the School of Sociology and Psychology of CUFE were invited to go there together. Through themed lectures, on-site visits, and school enterprise discussions, we understood the development history of representative sci-tech enterprises in Pinggu District and discussed the development prospects of technological innovation-based enterprises in Pinggu District together.

Enterprise Talent Matching Exchange

With the theme of "Integration of Industry and Education to Seek Cooperation Together, Teachers, Students and Alumni Enterprises of the CUFE Business School Entered Pinggu", the Enterprise Talent Matching Exchange was successfully held at Green Valley Accelerator, Qidi Street.

Wang Lihai, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Pinggu District, Xin Lei, deputy director of the Management Committee of Pinggu National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone, Zhao Na, director of the Human Resource Department of Huadu Yukou Poultry Co., Ltd., and Jiao Peng, deputy general manager of the Pinggu Business Department of Haitong Securities, were present at the event and Lu Xin, deputy general manager of Qidi Street and general manager of Qidi Green Valley, presided over the event. Teachers and students of the Business School, alumni from different enterprises and business representatives from Pinggu District carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions around the integration and development of regional industrial talents.

Part 1

Xin Lei, deputy director of the Management Committee of Pinggu National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone, firstly welcomed the teachers, students and alumni enterprises of the Business School for their visit to Pinggu, and emphatically introduced the construction of Pinggu Agricultural Zhongguancun.

Pinggu District has actively implemented the Framework Agreement on the Co-construction of Agricultural Zhongguancun signed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Beijing Municipal Government, and has formulated and issued a series of supportive policies, such as Beijing Action Plan to Promote the Construction of Agricultural Zhongguancun (2022-2026), and Ten Measures of Beijing Municipality on Accelerating the Construction of Agricultural Zhongguancun. At present, Pinggu District is continuously strengthening the gathering of agricultural technology resources and factor resources, with special attention to the introduction of high-end talents. Through this exchange event, more students and alumni of CUFE will pay attention to Pinggu and form a close connection with Pinggu.

Part 2

In his speech, Li Yuexin, secretary of the Party Committee, firstly expressed gratitude to Qidi Green Valley for organizing this exchange event. According to what he said, education itself serves the society and economic construction and aims to cultivate qualified talents for socialist construction, and visiting enterprises can help students gain a deeper understanding of the market demand and the industry development trend and improve their practical ability, accordingly urging colleges and universities to cultivate more talents that are adaptable to the society and the market.

The Business School actively responds to the call of the country on the integration of industry and education, and actively organizes teachers and alumni to enter outstanding enterprises to understand the cutting-edge industrial development of the country. This trip to Pinggu District will be an important stop for the integration of industry and education. Besides, the Business School sincerely invites people from business circles to enter the school for interaction, information exchange and joint learning and exploration, and promotes universities and colleges to serve enterprises in a more targeted manner and make greater contributions to the economic construction of Beijing Municipality and Pinggu District together.

Part 3

Wang Lihai, deputy director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Pinggu District, gave a detailed introduction of the investment environment and industry situation of Pinggu District. Pinggu is located at the junction of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province, with obvious geographical advantages and abundant natural and cultural historical resources. Pinggu District is currently building a "high-end, high-quality, large-capacity" Pinggu centered on  high-tech agriculture, mass logistics and new leisure trend, so as to promote the "industrial synergy" of modern agriculture, smart logistics, high-end manufacturing, and cultural travel & leisure, accelerate the integrative development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries and stimulate new momentum for high-quality development. Welcome the alumni enterprises of the Business School of Central University of Finance and Economics to visit Pinggu for inspection and business cooperation and jointly promote the economic development of Pinggu District.

Qidi Street Green Valley Accelerator is Pinggu’s talent reception hall. Niu Shuhua, operations director of Qidi Street Green Valley Accelerator, explained the talent policy and the measures for implementation of the Convergence Plan (Huigu Plan) to all attending teachers, students, and alumni.

Zhao Na, director of the Human Resources Department of Huadu Yukou Poultry Co., Ltd., and Jiao Peng, deputy general manager of the Pinggu Business Department of Haitong Securities, as the representatives of the enterprises in Pinggu District, introduced the business and talent needs of their respective companies, and hoped that the Business School could open recruitment channels for the enterprises in Pinggu District and invite outstanding students from Central University of Finance and Economics to work in Pinggu.

Part 5

Teachers, students and alumni of the Business School conducted in-depth discussions with Xin Lei, Wang Lihai, Niu Shuhua and other responsible persons on the setting of specialties, the condition of talent cultivation and the primary business, development needs and strategic direction of alumni enterprises. The participants communicated with each other and exchanged ideas freely, and said that this visit and exchange enabled teachers, students and alumni to have a more comprehensive understanding of agricultural technology innovation and industrial development in Pinggu, which was conducive to the subsequent communication and cooperation between the school/government and the enterprises in a more comprehensive and in-depth manner.

The scientific research team of Xiying Science and Technology Backyard leverages the unique ecological resources of the smart orchard to promote the transformation of agricultural technology achievements into agricultural productivity, and builds “hard core" forces such as agricultural Internet of Things, agricultural drones, remote sensing, 5G and big data to add technological "wings" to agricultural production.

Innovation Factory of Zhongguancun Agricultural Science and Technology Park

Understand the technical requirements and application scenario construction condition of Zhongguancun agriculture, dairy industry, fruit industry, greenhouse horticulture and other industries in terms of equipment, data and intelligence.

Summary

Through this field research and exchange, teachers, students and alumni of the Business School have gained a deeper understanding of the development status and trend, management and other aspects of agricultural industry in Pinggu District. This has broadened their horizons, increased their knowledge, and provided useful references and guidance for the teaching, research and social services of the Business School.

Besides, under the guidance of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Business School and the enterprises will continue to push forward the policies related to the integration of industry and education, promote all-round cooperation between the school and the enterprises in the fields such as teaching training, internship practice and talent recruitment, and establish a regular communication mechanism between the School and the enterprises to promote the college to further improve the quality of talent cultivation and cultivate more outstanding management talents for the society.
